Aunt Betty always showed up. She was like a sister to our mom, and a spirited, funny and generous aunt to all of us. Here she is at mom's 90th birthday celebration in Phoenix, AZ in 2012, and with my mom and dad in Albany on their wedding day. Sending heartfelt condolences to Steve, Kevin, Dennis and Maureen and your families as you celebrate her wonderful life. Rest in peace, Aunt Betty.

We looked forward to the times Betty was visiting Maureen and John on Loosestrife Court . She was always involved and joyful. Cookies were delicious, drinks were shared, stories were told. She made many crafts that were shared with Loosestrife families.
She has ascended with joy to join her family and friends who have already passed. She will be missed by those she has left here. God Bless.

As the oldest child of Aunt Betty's brother Michael James (Jim) my childhood memories of her as a young woman are vivid. I was born in New York. I was told Aunt Betty used to take me for walks in my carriage. When our family moved to Arizona she and Uncle Don moved there too.
They were both part of our celebrations, holidays, and day to day activities. She taught me to shell pecans growing on their property....I ate more than I gathered for her baking projects. I roller-skated in front of her house. When our mother went to the hospital Aunt Betty took great care of us Sterling kids. I loved living there! Always there was laughter. An irreverant sense of humor. A wonderful solidity about her , and I loved being with her in the kitchen. She taught me to make her amazing chocolate pie, which I still make, and always think of her. When my own daughter , then living in Boston, had her first child, Aunt Betty joined us for little Emma's baptism. This is a picture of her, with Emma, on that day. Our hearts ache for the loss of such an amazing woman. Living now in the northwest I am sorry to miss her funeral, but you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. The world was a better place with her in it, and she will be in our hearts forever.

To Betty’s family,
So very sorry to learn of Betty’s passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Betty through Hope and I know if there is a quilting club in Heaven, Betty has already joined and is sharing her talents. Always enjoyed a visit with Betty in Myrtle Beach.
Betty leaves behind a truly beautiful legacy. Her family was her everything❤️
Rest In Love and Peace
