I first started playing with Mickey nights during the week in the late 70's and early 80's and we would talk stocks together . He then joined Herb Johnson. Al Gdula and myself on weekends.
My fondest memory is when Mickey pressed on the ninth hole on April 14 1984 and I had my first and only hole in one, his expression was unforgetable. Mickey would send me postcards from Hawaii or Australia sometimes with pictures. There were many people that had Mickey Dott sitings all over the world. Mickey would call me every year in early May letting me know to save a spot for him.
He loved Pinehaven's pool and the Saeatoga pool as well as the track and Fonda.
I went and visited him at the Nursing Home in October and I spent almost an hour with him. I will miss Mickey and hope he considered me a friend because I considered him a friend of mine.
