Obituary of Louis L. Molitor
Colonie - Louis Lee Molitor, 75, of Maplewood Ave, peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Born in Pittsfield, MA to Louis F. and Denise M. Molitor, Lou was raised in Albany, NY and graduated from Albany High School. After Lou met his late wife, Barbara, they moved to Averill Park where they lived during the 80’s and 90’s raising their 3 kids and after her passing, he moved to Colonie where he resided for the last 2 decades.
He and his late wife Barbara Ann Pologa Molitor, raised Heather Robles (Ricardo), Brandi Molitor Marzolino (Ian) and Brad Molitor (Krystal) and he was also the father of Chad Molitor (Sally) and Amy Trance, whom he had prior to meeting Barb. Lou was the grandfather of Kristin Trance, Steven Trance, Alyssa Molitor, Kyle Molitor, Aaliyah Robles, Ava Robles, Madison Molitor and Macoy Molitor. He was also the great-grandfather of Livie Tedesco.
Lou’s family remembers his love for sports (especially NY teams), blasting music by Prince, his Monte Carlo Pace Car, a good Reese's Peanut Butter cup, having a cigarette and Diet Pepsi in his hand and most notably his love for his long-time canine companion, Whakey (“Key-Girl”) who for many years after Barbara passed, was always by his side.
He loved when people accomplished great things in their life, usually responding with, “No shit!” when he heard of the great news. Despite being a bit reclusive, Lou was always rooting for those he cared about while sharing his thoughts along the way. He was gentle, kind, loved animals, was very funny and loved a great joke.
He is and forever will be greatly missed.
