To the McCashion Family,
I was saddened to learn the news of your mother's passing. She was a great woman who always had a fun story to tell. A truly dedicated woman to education, she always wanted people to be more well-rounded. I admired her many qualities, especially her caring for her family.
I wish I could have been there in-person, but I'm away in Florida. Please know that I'm keeping you all in my prayers, and I wish you and your mother peace.
Be well,
Greg Aidala

To Fran's beloved family,
I met your Mom at school events which our children shared, as a skilled teacher who tutrored complex medically fragile students at home, at church where she was involved with ministries as a spiritual leader and in community where she and your father, worked for preservation of our freedoms and history. Your Mom and Dad raised 6 thriving children and did good works besides! She was a gift to so many, inspirational, a friend to all, never a spectator. Fran walked by faith and lived the way of the cross energized by a power greater than this natural world understands. She was trusted and influential ,creating ripples that turned into powerful waves in our community. Fran made a differnce, her cherished legacy, passing on ones beliefs and values, will remain as an example to the world. Gather as family and Grieve, which is remembering well all she meant to you.
With my deepest condolences,
Joyce Lavery

I had the honor and pleasure of serving on the board of the Capital District Civil War Round Table with Fran for many years. In those days, we rotated board meetings at the homes of board members. We had a meal first and then the meeting. When it was at Fran's house, it was always a great meal with salad, main course and of course a selection of desserts. Her old dog was always asleep under the table. For a number of years, the CWRT had bus trips to Civil War battlefields on Columbus Day weekend. Fran was a regular attendee on the trips. The period from 1995 to 2005 was one where the CWRT was involved in designing and selling commemorative postal envelopes to raise funds for battlefield preservation. Fran was always there to put stamps on envelopes and to man the table selling our collectibles to the public at Gettysburg on the anniversary of the battle and the Gettysburg Address. She was committed to education and service all her life. It is rare to see a person nowadays who can come near to Fran's sense of duty and responsibility. The Capital District is a sorrier place without her.

Fran was a special person and educator. I so enjoyed conversations with her when she’d pop into my classroom while in the building. Whether tutoring a student, or substituting, I knew that all would be well!

Dear family of Fran,
It seems I have known your mother/grandmother forever....at least since I started teaching in South Colonie. She was a friendly, caring teacher...and superb substitute teacher...and I loved the conversations we had over lunch or during a break in classes. May she rest in peace knowing that she had an influence in so many lives.
Sincerely,
Judy Allen

I was saddened to read about Fran this morning. I always enjoyed our talks together, whether she was substituting for me, or home tutoring a student or those occasions when we ran into each other in the grocery store and we lost track of time talking about this and that.
My condolences to the family.
