Obituary of Kelly W. Thompson
VOORHEESVILLE - Thompson, Kelly W. of Voorheesville. passed unexpectedly Tuesday, August 1st, 2023 at his residence. Born in Albany, NY; Kelly was a lifelong resident of Voorheesville. Kelly was a graduate of Clayton A. Bouton High School class of 1984. For over 22 years, Kelly proudly served as a Corrections Officer at the Albany County Correctional Facility, and was with Albany County for nearly 30 years total. He also was the Co-Owner of B&B Sealcoating. Kelly was as selfless as they come, and dedicated his life to service in his community, as he was a proud member of the New Salem Fire Department. He also spent time as a Voorheesville Ambulance Volunteer, and was also a part of the Fire Brigade at the Albany County Correctional Facility. You could always find Kelly at the grill, looking to make people happy through his love of food. He started working at Toll Gate Ice Cream at the age of 16, and was a happy member of their community for the greater part of two decades. Most importantly, Kelly was a proud parent of his three children, and would show it by supporting their endeavors, including attending Jessica’s concerts, cheering at Christopher’s basketball games, and being Eileen’s biggest fan as she starts her journey into St. Peter’s School of Nursing. Kelly is survived by his wife, Patricia M. Thompson (Farley); his three children, Jessica M. Thompson, Christopher J. Thompson (Kaitlyn), and Eileen T. Thompson. He is the brother of Melony Morse and uncle to Dakota, as well as his brother-in-law Bill (Mary) Farley. He is also the uncle to Shawn (Kate) Farley, Trevor Farley, Devin (Samantha) Farley, Patrick (Stephanie) Farley, Erin Farley, Kerri (Brian) Seacord, Brian Farley; as well as great uncle to Matthew Farley, Tristan Farley, Alex Farley, Michael Farley, Zoe Farley, Spencer Seacord, Parker Seacord, Bryce Farley and Olivia Farley. Kelly is predeceased by his parents Leslie Crouse and Earl Thompson; as well as his mother-in-law, Eileen Farley; brother-in law Charles Farley; and sister-in-law Daryl Farley.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 2 - 5 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Church, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville. Kelly’s funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Matthew’s Church and interment will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
