Obituary of Huguette Bedard Elliott
Voorheesville, NY - Huguette Elliott passed away on November 22, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born in Québec City, Québec, one of 11 children to the late Albertine Renaud and the late Roméo Bédard. She was a proud French Canadian and loved her siblings, the late Jean Paul (late Lucille Boyte), Solange, the late Pauline (late Fidèle Pelletier), Pierrette (late Claude Cauchon), Denise (René Beaudoin), the late Roger (Thérèse Sanfaçon), Marcel (Claire Simard), Marc-André (Francine Leblanc), Michel (Lucie Cloutier), René; and her many nieces and nephews.
Huguette came to the United States in 1964 and moved to Voorheesville in 1968. She leaves two loving daughters, Andrée Elliott (David Comegys) of Altamont, NY and Jennifer Elliott of Dunedin, Florida; and two grandchildren, Bart Comegys of Boston, Massachusetts and Kara Comegys of Bloomington, Illinois.
Huguette enjoyed a long career at the New York State Department of Labor. She loved world travel, especially Paris, the outdoors, interior design, gardening, bicycling, reading, and of course all of her cats over the years. She was a friend of animals and volunteered for many years at Whiskers Animal Benevolent League, a haven for rescued cats.
Huguette cherished many close friendships that spanned decades, especially those of her neighbors who became an extended family to her, her colleagues at work and her fellow volunteers at the shelter.
At Huguette’s request, services will not be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Whiskers, PO Box 11190, Albany, NY 12211 or www.ewhiskers.com would be welcomed.
