Obituary of Robert E. Mossman
Robert E. (Bobby) Mossman, 60, of Albany, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on January 22, 2022. He fought a brave fight with ALS, and he is now at peace. Bobby was born on July 4, 1961, to Mary J. (Walter) Mossman and the late Frederick H. Mossman. He was born and raised in Albany, where he spent most of his life.
Bobby suffered a severe head injury at the age of two. He attended Guilderland schools and served some time in the US Navy before deciding that truck driving was the job for him. He enjoyed the experience of traveling around the country, where he met his first wife, Melissa Green, before returning to the Albany area. Over the years, his life's road had many twists and turns., and he held many jobs in differing fields. A bit of a rebel, Bobby was always looking to change his stars and have a better life.
Bobby loved the outdoors and shared that love with the people around him. He especially enjoyed camping, geocaching, and fishing.
Bobby was a true friend; a man of many talents who found joy in helping others. He was always willing to respond to a call for help, often leaving the warmth of his bed to make emergency repairs in order to bring comfort to others.
Tradition meant a lot to Bobby, and he carried on the family traditions of decorating sugar cookies for Christmas, burning his bayberry candle on Christmas Eve and picnicking on Easter day.
His passion for fantasy gave his nieces and nephews wide-eyed fantastical adventures as one of their favorite Dungeon Masters when they were together on holidays.
The love for his family and the importance he took in spending time with them was apparent. Bobby's imagination, kindness and caring ways will be greatly missed by every life he touched.
