Obituary of David C. Martinsen

VAN HORNESVILLE (Herkimer County) – David C. Martinsen, 57, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2021 due to late stage emphysema. David was the son of the late Jon C. Martinsen and Judy Martinsen. He was born on October 8, 1963 and grew up in Highland Park, New Jersey and Holyoke, Massachusetts and enjoyed summer vacations on Lake Otsego in Cooperstown, New York. He graduated from Holyoke High School in 1981. A carpenter by trade, David took great pride in his building and woodworking skills and a great sense of accomplishment in the completion of his projects. David loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing, hiking, camping, and fishing. He especially enjoyed working on updating his country property over the past ten years. David loved sharing stories with others that were enhanced by his exceptional memory. David is survived by his children Christopher, Ashley, and John; sister Debbie (Rich) Odorizzi; nieces Lindsey, Megan and Katelyn; aunt Jo Ellen Logan (Michael Ziadeh); cousins Susan and Wayne Hoover; uncle Tom Balmer (Cherie); and other family members and friends.
