Robert, Richard & Roger, I just discovered that Luella had passed, I am so sorry for the tremendous loss to your family. I am Helena (Edwards) Smolik's daughter, our mothers were cousins and quite close in younger years. My mom died in 2018 at age 92. My husband & I visited your folks twice in 2018-19 and they wanted so dearly to visit the farm in Ephratah where Luella & your uncle Dick spent many days. I sent them a favorite CD of YoYoMa after our last visit. I spoke to your mother a few times right before & after the pandemic set in, they were already in Beverwyck Eddy & your father was having increasing problems. She told me of his passing in our last phone conversation. At the home of another Johnson, Irving's son Donald, I was given a Johnson family genealogy document that I wanted to share with Luella. When she didn't reply to my text, I had a feeling that she may have been ill or passed. A search revealed the obituary. Again, I am so sorry. No matter how old they are or we are, one is never quite ready to lose them. I am winding down my practice in CA and spending more time in NY. My husband Donald & I are trying to restore some of the farm. I do have 9 pages of Johnson family tree if you are ever interested. I have no idea if this will ever reach you but I had to try.
