Obituary of Beth Gould Timmis

Voorheesville - Beth Timmis passed away at age 72 on May 28, 2020. She was a loving mom, nana, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Beth spent her childhood in New England and graduated from Marblehead High School in Marblehead, Massachusetts. She spent her early career in the financial district of Boston; later moving to Rhode Island where her two daughters were born, then on to Tonawanda, New York, and settled in Voorheesville where her son was born, and her children were raised. Beth is predeceased by her parents Barbara and Lucius Whittredge, and her sister Marylou Surette. She is being remembered by her three children; Nancy Gaudet and Jennifer Timmis of Westminster, Massachusetts, and Christopher Timmis of Las Vegas, Nevada; by her sisters Tracy Kelly-Clay and Marcia Cole; and by her brothers David Whittredge and Lucius Whittredge III (Buddy). Beth will be a forever Nana to her seven grandchildren: Kristen Gaudet (23), Madison Odneal (21), Tyler Fredette (18), Lindsey Odneal (17), Alexa Kay (13), Jason Gaudet (12), Hunter Timmis (10), and her newest grandchild Adaline to arrive in September. As a full-time Homemaker, Beth was involved in Girl Scouts while her daughters were growing up and became a member of the Voorheesville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary where she remained an active member until she passed. Beth’s close group of long-time neighbors and friends in the community will miss her giving spirit and love of nature, especially her flower gardens. Having a large family of five brothers and sisters, Beth will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A service will be planned to take place in Voorheesville when larger groups can come together, and restrictions are lifted. Date to be announced.
