Bob was one of my closest friends and was best man at my wedding for Roslyn and I. I remember the good times we had in the 1970's and 80's at Crystal Lake in the Catskills with many friends. I enjoyed his dry sense of humor from the very beginning. i remember going sailing with him when he had his first sail boat, a small one, at Sacandaga lake. We camped there many times. I went sailing with him when he had a larger sailboat on Lake George, and also on the Hudson river where he had his boat docked in Coeymans. He liked Lake George, but he complained of too many motor boats and jet skis. And the Hudson River was too narrow for sailing. And for many years my wife Roslyn and I sailed with him on Lake Champlain and stayed overnight on his larger sailboat in Willsboro, NY .
Bob knew every inch of his sailboat and was always the best sailor. He was safe, knew all boating laws and rules, and respected the weather. Storms would appear quickly in the Adirondacks. Bob knew many people at the Willsboro marina. He had many friends who respected him for his help and knowledge. He had a doctor friend from Quebec, as well as a New York State Trooper and his family that would visit him. He had a diverse set of friends. Lake Champlain was his second home and I will associate Bob to that lake always. Every fall I would go to his house in New Scotland to watch Ohio State football games. We had such good times rooting against Michigan. His Mom would always call after a big play. I visited his mom and dad in Binghamton NY one year. Saw his dad's train set which was impressive, met with his friend Ray, and went to Sharkey's tavern. Bob got me a job on his construction site with an electrician when I was out of work for 4 months. Bob was the smartest construction engineer ever! I will miss you always my friend, and I will keep you in my prayers.
