Obituary of Gregory S. Jackson
Altamont- Gregory S. Jackson passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with Amyloidosis.
Born on May 19, 1962, Greg was the son of Vala and William Jackson. He is survived by his wife Kerry Dineen, his three sisters; Kimberly Cook (Bryon), MaryBeth Flagler (Joseph), Pam ONeill (Richard); and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much, and who he loved in return.
First and foremost, Greg was a caring and kind husband, son, brother and friend. He found his enjoyment in the simple things – going out to breakfast with Kerry, readying for hunting season with his buddies in Knox, relaxing with his dog, Murphy and taking care of endless small jobs around his house. That is who he was and what was so undoubtedly, endearing about him.
Greg graduated Voorheesville C.S.D. and worked for 31 years at the Guilderland C.S.D. in the maintenance department before recently retiring. Admirably, he took pride in helping to provide safe and welcoming schools for students for over three decades.
Without question, Greg was known to be an exceptionally generous man who offered his help to anyone who needed him. He was – and will remain – a shining light for Kerry, as well as his family and he will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, November 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at the Altamont Reformed Church, 129 Lincoln Ave, Altamont, NY.
