Obituary of Francis Herbert Person, Jr.
Voorheesville - Francis "Frank" Herbert Person Jr., 93, died peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital on September 9th. Frank was a lifelong resident of the village of Voorheesville, and was known for his loyalty, community spirit, generosity and sense of humor. He served in Italy during World War II, and returned home to marry Arlene Hilda Crounse, his best friend and the love of his life. He worked for the New York State Tax Department, and was a boy scout leader, volunteer firefighter, and member of the Voorheesville ambulance squad. He was a founding member of the Voorheesville American Legion and served on the village zoning board. He was a devoted lifetime member of the New Scotland Presbyterian Church.
Frank was predeceased by Arlene and his daughter, Linda Loop . He is survived by his son, Donald Person, son-in-law Larry Loop, grandchildren Eric Person, Katie Foshea (Joel), Rachel Person (Steve Sheinkin) and Lesley Loop, and great-grandchildren DeWolfe Morrow, Emmy and Boone Foshea and Anna and David Sheinkin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the New Scotland Presbyterian Church, 2010 New Scotland Rd., Slingerlands, NY 12159. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frank's honor to the New Scotland Presbyterian Church.
