Obituary of James A. Tinger
Averill Park - Early Saturday morning, March 17, 2018, St. Patrick’s Day, “Jim” died at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 62. Born November 11, 1955 in Pittsfield, MA, the son of Michael and Blanche (Maxon) Tinger, Jim was graduated from Averill Park, HS and later from HVCC with an Associates degree in Blue Print Reading and Business Trades. Jim is survived by his wife Kimberly (Sullivan), his son James “Jim” (Kayla Shrump) Tinger and two grandchildren, Jimmie and Kallie. He was the youngest of five brothers: John, Michael, and Robert Tinger and Rodney and Donald Sowalskie. Jim was a master in flooring design and installation, an art that brought lifelong friendships with devoted clients. A service of remembrance will be held later this spring for family and friends.
