Obituary of Joan D. Walsh

Cohoes - Joan Stevenson Walsh, 83, died Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Eddy Village Green.  Born in Montreal, Canada, Joan had lived in Colonie for 65 years.  She was a homemaker and also worked for various area McDonalds Restaurants for 37 years.  She was a former member of the Our Lady of Mercy Rosary Society.  Joan loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed her winters in Florida.

    She was the wife of the late George J. Walsh, Sr. and is survived by her children, Colleen Walsh of Troy, Kathleen Peek (Gary) of Duanesburg, Michael Walsh of Colonie, Joanne Vroman (Gary) of Delmar and George J. “Jimbo” Walsh, Jr. (Renee) of Malta; grandchildren, Nicole, Megan, Melissa, Dana, Alicia, Craig, Chris, Peyton and Owen; and great-grandchildren, Hazel, Michael, Max, Ryan, Cameron, Madelyn, Jacob and Claire.

    A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville.  Friends may also call at the church Wednesday from 9 - 11 a.m., prior to the mass.  Joan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Eddy Village Green Building 8 for the loving care that they provided.  For those who wish, memorial donations to Community Hospice of Albany, 310 So.
