Obituary of Joan Ann Morrison
Colonie- Joan Ann Morrison (Oliver) born on April 26,1933. Passed away on July 11, 2017 following a brief illness.
Born and raised in Albany’s “ South End”, Joan attended St. John’s School, and was married to the love of her life, “Bud” Morrison, for 67 years.
Joan (Joanie) worked for many years as a waitress. She loved her work and enjoyed her friendships with the many people she met working at the Tick Tock Restaurant and Shea’s Little Bavaria.
After retiring, she opened her home to childcare, providing love and care to many of her grandchildren and others, soon becoming “Nannie” to all.
Joan was a great conversationalist and was up-to-date on current events, popular TV shows and fashion.
Joan kept a beautiful home and was welcoming to all. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and enjoyed the many parties and holidays celebrated together.
Loving wife of George “Bud” Morrison, cherished mother of Kenneth (Judith), Stephen (Susan), George, David (Patricia) and Denise. Sister of Richard Oliver and the late Donald Oliver. Grandmother of Brian, Matthew, Geoffrey, Billy, Stacy, Kathryn, Kirstin, Jillian, Eric, Joseph, Michael, Mary, and Daniel. Beloved great grandmother to Haley, Connor, Matthew, Collin and Isabella. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Historic St. Mary’s Church, 10 Lodge St, Albany, N.Y. 12207 at 9 A.M., Saturday July 15th. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Reilly & Son Funeral Home in Colonie on Friday from 4-7 P.M . Those who wish may make contributions to Historic St. Mary’s Church, in memory of Joan.
