Obituary of Barbara J. Knapp

Daytona Beach, FL - On May 31, 2017, with her husband at her side, Barbara J.(Kellie) Knapp fell in battle during her personal war with cancer.  Barbara was born February 23, 1951 and was the third child of the late Philip M. And Evelyn R. (Butler) Kellie.  She was raised in Medusa, NY and was a graduate of Greenville High School, class of 1969.  After high school, she moved to the Albany area and eventually began a career as a legal secretary/paralegal, most notably with the prestigious firm of Ackerman, Wachs and Finton.  She was an excellent seamstress who delighted in skillfully making children's clothing under the name KnapptimeClothes and also helped her husband re-hab several houses.  

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Thomas J. Knapp and is also survived by her children;  Clyde (Caroline) Lounsbury of Feura Bush, NY, Roger W. "Wes" Lounsbury, Jr, of Schnectady, NY, Wendy J. Lounsbury of Rotterdam, NY and Heidi Y. (Joseph) Troche of Colonie, NY.  She is also survived by her siblings; Robert (Lucille) Kellie of Altamont, NY, Arlene (David) Ingalls of Greenville, NY, Marion (Kenneth) Cooke of Medusa, NY, Howard (Marilyn) Kellie of Cobleskill, NY, Richard(Patricia) Kellie of Acra, NY, Elaine (Charles) Ippolito of Daytona Beach, FL and Bruce (Jaena) Kellie of Maysville, NC.  

A memorial service in her honor will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 1:00 PM, with visitation between 10:00 AM and 1:00PM., at the Reilly and Son Funeral Home, Colonie.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
