Saratoga Springs - Gloria Eva Maynard (Krauss, Stapleton), 84 years young, passed peacefully on 2/23/13 at her home in Embury Apts, Saratoga, surrounded by loving family. Born 12/26/28, to the late John F. Maynard and Mildred Lantz Maynard of Latham; sister of John Maynard (Patsy) of Greenville, NY and Dunellon, FL and the late Thomas Maynard. She was pre-deceased by husbands Karl Krauss and Thomas Stapleton; brother Thomas Maynard. She is survived by 4 daughters: Diane Clarke (Paul) of Schenectady; Susan Guhin of Guilderland; Carol Martell (Larry) of Santa Fe, NM; and Amy Zanghi (John) of Queensbury. Grandchildren: Emily Barr, Amanda Barr, Adam Guhin (Jennifer), Aaron Guhin (Katherine), Nathan Moody (Tara), Kelly Matney (Luke), Christina Roka, Nicole and Jessica Zanghi. Great grandchildren: Viveca Barr, Michael Guhin, Kyle and Julia Moody, and Julian, Michael and Allie Matney. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She attended Colonie Village School and Albany High School. In addition to raising her family was employed in the Bacteriology Lab at Albany Med, Latham Water Dept, and then NYS Telecommunications. Gloria's legacy to her children, family and dear friends is her joy and her love of nature. The ripples of her life's contributions will be felt by generations, making the world a better place. She will be laid to rest in Memory Gardens of Albany. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be offered to organizations meaningful to Gloria: Stillpoint Interfaith Retreat Center (Mechanicville; 587-4967; www.stillpointretreatcenter.com), Communityhospice.org (285-8166), or PBS.org.
