Obituary of Yusef Westerman

Menands- Yusef Westerman passed away on November 22, 2015 at Syracuse Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. He was born on July 27, 1998 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He leaves behind his mother, Annette DeMarco of Menands, NY; sisters, Simone Westerman of Waterford, NY and Dominique Westerman of Schenectady, NY; niece, Amya Westerman and nephew, Antonio Westerman of Schenectady, NY; his grandmother, Viola DeMarco (Bubby) of Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Delmar, Aunt Mary Mancuso of Colonie, NY; Cousin Gina Ree Mancuso of Austin, TX; Uncle Anthony DeMarco of Colonie, Aunt Robin DeMarco and Cousin Eva Kocsis, cousins Edith Scott of Fitchburg, MA, and Ryan Scott of Fitchburg, MA, cousins Frank and Ritchie Billotte of Leominster, MA and his beloved Rescue Dog, "Petey." Yusef was predeceased by his father, Andre Westerman of Brooklyn, NY. Yusef possessed a quick wit and he had an easygoing and generous nature. He loved to laugh and loved to make others laugh. He had a fun spirit and a self assured calming presence that people were drawn to. Yusef lived every day to the fullest of his much too brief life among us and he will be forever missed. Yusef's last gift to this world was the gift of tissue and organ donations so that another may have the gift of life and sight. His family would like to thank all those who have reached out and sent so many kind and comforting messages of condolences and support. it is so gratifying to know how many souls Yusef has touched. Yusef will be laid to rest beside his father in Brooklyn, who, because of his untimely death, Yusef was not able to know in life, but now they can be together in the next. In leiu of flowers, you may make a donation in Yusef's name to the Mohawk and Hudson Humane Society. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
