Obituary of Robert N. Pilatzke

Pilatzke, Robert N. MENANDS Robert Norman Pilatzke passed away suddenly on March 17, 2012 in Albany, N.Y. He was born in Montreal, Canada, August 26 1951 and was the son of the late Richard and Dorothy Pilatzke. He graduated from Guilderland High School in 1969 and received his bachelors' degree from SUNY Albany in 1974. He married Catherine Mulherin on September 23, 1972. He is survived by his sisters, Carol Lorch and her husband Frank, Cheryl Wise and her husband Ken, Jane Donnelly and her husband Rich, and his brother Richard Pilatzke and his wife Cheryl. He is also survived by Catherine Pilatzke; with whom he had three sons, Matthew, his wife Diana, Stephen, his wife Nicole, and Brian. He was the proud grandfather of Danielle, Justin, Jack, and Maddox; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and his companion, Betsy Aliberti. Bob worked for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for 37 years. He was an avid tennis and racquetball player. He loved to play backgammon and various card games. He spent a number of years coaching and guiding young baseball and soccer players. He loved to travel and was a great sports enthusiast, especially with his beloved Red Sox. Calling hours will be Friday, March 23 from 4 to 7 at Reilly & Son Funeral Home, 9 Voorheesville Ave., Voorheesville, NY 12186. The funeral will be Saturday, March 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church, 25 Mountainview Street, Voorheesville, NY 12186. Interment to follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 2167 Western Avenue, Guilderland, NY 12084. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that donations be made to the American Heart Association .
