Albany - Frederick R. Salati, 81, of Albany died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Jersey Shore, PA, Frederick was the son of the late Margaret Polito and Albert Salati. He served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1953 and worked for many years as a plumber at the Albany County Nursing Home in Colonie. He was a member of the West Albany Italian Benevolent Society and enjoyed golfing, square dancing and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a former President of the Capital District Umpire's Association. Frederick was the husband of the late Kathleen Salati; father of David Salati (Patti) of Bradenton, FL, Lisa Cooper of Cohoes and Steven Salati (Mary) of Ballston Lake; brother of Albert Salati of Colonie, Gloria Agresta of Colonie and the late Charlene Gabriel; and grandfather of Devan Salati, Mark Cooper, Shana Cooper and Nino Salati. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 9:00 o'clock Thursday morning at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville, NY. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. For those who wish, memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 2 Pine West Plaza Albany, NY 12205 would be appreciated.
