I have two great stories about Gay. I worked with her from 1977-1988 at Memorial in the O.R. One night we were getting changed in the locker room and I was waiting for her outside in the hall. She came out, walking down the hall with her O.R. bonnet still on her head and her purse draped over her shoulder with only her bra on. Of course, she had her pants on, but forgot her blouse and it was hilarious. We had a good chuckle over that. We were tired. Then another night when we were leaving together after being called in for a case, it had been snowing heavily. We are both walking to our cars and talking and I turn around and she's gone. I'm yelling, "Gay, where are you"? She yells, down here. She had slipped and slid under a car part way. After I knew she was fine, we laughed so hard over that. My fondest memories were one of laughter with her. The old days at Memorial were the best. God Bless her and know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. She was there when my mother of 60 years old died from colon cancer. She was one of the nicest ladies that offered tremendous comfort to me at a very sad time. I was only 24 and she was very comforting.
