Obituary of Ruth L. Matrese

Voorheesville - Ruth Lewis Matrese, Age 95, died Jan. 7, 2015. Born in Sidney, New York. Predeceased by parents Richard and Mary Lewis; beloved husband of 60 years, Vincent L. Matrese; brother Paul Lewis. Ruth graduated from Sidney High School and Albany Business College. She was employed over 30 years at the Legislative Index Company, retiring in 1985. Ruth was a longstanding member of Voorheesville Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Survived by sons Richard D. Matrese of Valley Cottage, N.Y and Lawrence V. (Barbara) Matrese of Fairport, N.Y.;granddaughter Mary (James) Best of Rochester, N.Y; sister-in-law Mary Matrese, nieces, nephews and cousins. Our family is grateful to the excellent staff at Crest Manor for the love and care they have shown Ruth for over four years. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Voorheesville First United Methodist Church, 68 Maple Ave., Voorheesville. Relatives and friends may also call Monday morning after 10:00 a.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville. Burial will be private in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the Voorheesville Volunteer Ambulance, P.O.
