Obituary of Richard D. Belleville

New Scotland - Richard D. Belleville died at home on November 19, 2014. Born in Whitehall, NY, he was the son of the late Beatrice Hurtubis and Albert Belleville. Richard was a resident of the Capital District most of his life and was a graduate of Vincentian Institute. After serving in the United States Air Force, he returned to the Capital District and with the GI Bill, attended and was graduated from Russell Sage College. He retired from the University Construction Fund as Assistant Manager of Fiscal Affairs. He is survived by his wife Annick "Niki" Belleville; his brother, Vincent Belleville of Florida; cousins, Raymond and Ralph Vincent of Waterford, Harold "Flip" Neddo of Lake Luzerne; his uncle Kenneth Vincent (Janet) of Florida; his nephews, Bradley, Christopher, Jason,Josh and Justin Belleville; and his niece, Meghan Boresky. He was predeceased by his son, Richard Belleville. Richard had many diverse interests. He enjoyed physical fitness and work outs at the YMCA, extensive foreign travel, the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. An avid jazz enthusiast, he could play a mean bongo - his collection of tapes, albums and cd's reflect this in his house and yard wired for sound. Politics and economics were favorite discussion topics. He loved his coffee klutch of Saturday mornings at which many topics were covered, particularly politics. Though he never rode, he loved racing and attended a few Kentucky Derbies and visited several out of state race tracks. He and his wife enjoyed good food accompanied with wines that he collected. Friends are invited to visit with Richard's family on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home in Voorheesville. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 o'clock. Interment services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Saratoga. For those who wish, memorial contribuions to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
