Obituary of Frank J. Palmieri

BANY - Frank J. Palmieri, 93, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Teresian House Nursing Home. Born in Utica, Frank had lived in the Albany area since 1993. He worked for 25 years as a Mental Health Therapist at the Marcy Psychiatric Center in Marcy, NY before retiring in 1982. He was a longtime parishoner of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Utica and since 1993, he has been a communicant of St. Clare's Church in Colonie. Frank was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and was a lifetime member of the Latham Chapter. He was a member of the Colonie Seniors and a devoted New York Yankees fan. Frank's true devotion however, was to his family. He was a loving husband and father. Frank was the husband of the late Evelyn Ricco Palmieri; father of Rachel Gallagher (Daniel) of Silver Spring, MD; step grandfather of Barry Gallagher (Patricia); step great-grandfather of Patrick, Connor and Austin: and brother of the late August Palmieri and Joseph Palmieri. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews and canine companions. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Infant of Prague Chapel at the Teresian House Nursing Home at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the nursing home from 9 - 10 am Friday, prior to the mass. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie. Frank's family would like to thank the LPNs Kelly, Katie and Starr and the rest of the staff at the Teresian House for their kindness and compassion.
