Obituary of Jaime Lafia
Guilderland - Jim Lafia, age 80, passed peacefully on August 5, 2024 at Van Rensselaer Manor. He was born May 30, 1945 in Memphis Tennessee. He served in the United States Army as a mechanic from 1966-1969. He worked at Suburban Propane for many years before he sustained an injury that forced an early retirement. Jim was huge on telling jokes and even though some were corny, they still made you laugh. He also attended a writing group every Tuesday with his mother-in-law, Marilyn at the Colonie Senior Center.
Jim Lafia is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Amber Wagoner and Andrew Nolin; grandchildren, Kai Wagoner, Cameron Wagoner, Layla Nolin Thiele, Spencer Nolin Thiele and Rhiannon Nolin Thiele.
A service will be held in his honor at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 2 - 4 p.m. Burial will be on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 9:30 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
